Spotlight Youth Theatre is a theatre company in Cape Town.
Not to be confused with the company called Spotlight Theatre founded by Cecilia Sonnenberg and René Ahrenson in the 1950s.

The concept
The concept and name Spotlight Youth Theatre occurs in a range of countries, including multiple companies in the USA[1], the UK and Australia for example. In all cases this refers to a pedagogic philosophy of involving young people in, and exposing them to, theatre practice - in all its forms, on stage and back-stage - as life training.
The company
A South African version of Spotlight Youth Theatre exists in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, also incorporating the Spotlight Drama Studio [2].
The aim is to provide young people with the opportunity to reach their creative potential on the stage and in life.
