The concept and name Spotlight Youth Theatre occurs in a range of countries, including multiple companies in the USA[1], the UK and Australia for example.
Not to be cobnfused with the company called Spotlight Theatre founded by Cecilia Sonnenberg and René Ahrenson in the 1950s.
The company
A South African version of Spotlight Youth Theatre exists in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, also incorporating the Spotlight Drama Studio [2].
The aim is to provide young people with the opportunity to reach their creative potential on the stage and in life.
