Die Pomporrelkonsert is an Afrikaans one-person play based on the stories of Ferdinand Deist

The original text

The stories, taken from Deist's collection of short stories set in the Sandveld and called Sandveldstories - Die Pomporrelkonsert en Ander Verhale (Tafelberg Publishers Ltd, 2019), were adapted for the stage by Frans Swart, the text featuring more than 20 different characters.

Performance history in South Africa

2025: Performed at the Fairtree Atterbury Theatre, in Pretoria in January, directed by Frans Swart, assisted by Ana van Achterbergh and performed by Botha Enslin.
