Die Pomporrelkonsert is an Afrikaans one-person play based on the regional stories of Ferdinand Deist[1].

The original text

The text consists of a selection from Deist's numerous short stories, set in the Sandveld, notably taken from the collection called Die Pomporrelkonsert en Ander Verhale (J.L. van Schaik, 1988), adapted for the stage by Frans Swart. The performance features more than 20 different characters. To enhance the text, Swart also added some appropriate stories by the authors Boerneef and Jan Spies.
