Rafiek Mammon (19**-) is a theatre and literary critic, journalist, lecturer, playwright and director.
Biography
His background is in teaching and modern workshop facilitation methods and he holds an M.Phil Degree from the University of Stellenbosch and a B.A. (Soc Sc) Degree from the University of Cape Town.
He began his career in education, teaching at a secondary school for 7 years, then lectured in journalism at The Cape Peninsula University of Technology for 11 years (1994-2005), while also running the Arts and Culture programme and the Writing Centre there.
His wide ranging involvement in the arts also includes the presentation of a feature on Heart 104.9fm radio station with Saskia Falken, called Arts Alive. He was the Cape Times Arts Editor, and for a time a Fleur du Cap Awards judge and a member of the KKNK festival's Kunstekabinet.
