South African Theatre Union (SATU - Afrikaans: Suid-Afrikaanse Teaterunie) was the new name given to the South African Actors' Equity (Afrikaans: Suid-Afrikaanse Akteursekwiteitsvereniging) in 1969.
The Union owned a hall, the [[SATU Saal]] or SATU Hall, often used for performances, inter alia by some of the PACT companies.
In 1982 SATU expanded to include film activities and became the South African Film and Theatre Union (SAFTU - Afrikaans: Suid-Afrikaanse Film-en Teaterunie)
