Youth
Julie was born in East London, South Africa, and embarked on her career in stage musicals in 1987 when she was only sixteen.
Training
Career
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She alternated the title role in Lerner and Loewes Gigi with Natasha Sutherland at the Pretoria State Theatre in 1992.
She has appeared in Great Expectations and Cinderella for NAPAC; Grease (as "Sandy"), Gigi and Brigadoon for PACT, The Sound of Music and Singin' in the Rain for PACOFS. In an East London production of Oklahoma! directed by Janet Buckland, she was seen as Laurie.
She starred in Kevin Feather’s The Doowah Girls at the Richard Haines Theatre in 1993 and played Guenevere in CAPAB’s production of Camelot in 1994.
Other productions include Summer Holiday (1998), Same Time Next Year (2013-4), and "Marilyn Monroe" in Marilyn Live!.
Film work includes House Party, The Eastern Bride, Merlin - the Return and the South African comedy Lipstiek Dipstiek.
