Born [[Mynie Basson Smith]], she grew up on the farm Avondson near Worcester in the Western Cape. A music prodigy from the age of 3, she went on to study graphic design and music after school, then worked for a while as a model, but went back to university where she studied music and psychology. She gave it up after being discovered by German producer Claude Larson. When Claude Larson moved to Cape Town, Mynie became a founder member of the Claude Larson Singers in 1971, where she met Jan Grové and with him developed the duo called [[Mynie & Jan]]. They married in 1972, but would separate in 1978 (or 1979, depending on which source you use) when she moved to Johannesburg.

Mynie Grové () is a singer-songwriter, music producer and actress.


Biography

Born Mynie Basson Smith, she grew up on the farm Avondson near Worcester in the Western Cape. A music prodigy from the age of 3, she went on to study graphic design and music after school, then worked for a while as a model, but went back to university where she studied music and psychology. She gave it up after being discovered by German producer Claude Larson.
