Published in Paris by Julliard in 1958
Translations and adaptations
Translated into English as Orison by Barbara Wright. Published in Four Plays: Orison, The Two Executioners; Fando and Lis; Car Cemetery]] by John Calder, London, 1961.
Performance history in South Africa
1972: Orison, the English translation, was staged by CAPAB, directed by John Burch, featuring Stephen Gurney (Fidio) and Lois Butlin (Libe). Presented in a double bill with The Stronger (Strindberg).
1977: Presented by the Rhodes University Drama Department directed by Jon Maytham in May 1977 as part of a triple bill of one act plays including The Dumb Waiter by Harold Pinter, directed by Lyrr Addison; Guernica by Ferdinand Arrabal, directed by Jamie Crawford.
