Motshabi Tvelele (1969-) is a performer and playwright.


Biography

She was born in Tladi, Soweto.She is a graduate of UCT Drama (BA degree in speech and drama, 1990).

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

She performed in Shwele Bawo! written and played by her. Directed by Lynne Maree and design by Sarah Roberts at Theatre on the Square, Johannesburg in 2008. She was also in Madam and Eve on TV.

Performances include Fatima Dike’s So What's New? at the Market Theatre, No-Good Friday, Nothing but the Truth, Blues for an Alabama Sky (Market Theatre 1997), Plastics (PACT 1999), The Blacks, Die Van Aardes van Grootoor, King Ubu, Two Weeks in September, Chameleon, Robin's A Cruise-Ou.

She wrote Shwele Bawo!.

Television roles include Thando in Suburban Bliss and Eve in Madam and Eve.

TV presenter of Crossover.
