Die Goeie Oue Tyd ("The good old times") is a play by Sita (1898-1987).

The original play

A tale about events taking place in the Cape during the time of Governor Simon van der Stel. Written in 1944 for the actor/director Pierre de Wet, based on a theme suggested by Anna Neethling-Pohl.

Translations and adaptations

Later filmed under the title Simon Beyers by Pierre de Wet.

Productions

1944: Performed by the Pierre De Wet Toneelgeselskap in August 1944 in the Hofmeyr Hall, Cape Town, starring Anna Neethling-Pohl, Gert van den Bergh, Pierre de Wet, Paula Styger, Jan Cronjé. It was then taken on tour.
