A tale about events taking place in the Cape during the time of Governor Simon van der Stel. Written in 1944, based on a theme suggested by Anna Neethling-Pohl. Performed by the Pierre De Wet Toneelgeselskap in August 1944 in the Hofmeyr Hall, Cape Town, starring Anna Neethling-Pohl, Gert van den Bergh, Pierre de Wet, Paula Styger, Jan Cronjé.
Later filmed by De Wet under the title Simon Beyers.
