Skouspel is a collection of seven short dramas in Afrikaans, compiled by Jan B. Vermaak.

The collection

The volume was compiled and supplied with an Introduction and notes, by Jan B. Vermaak, and published by Tafelberg-Uitgewers, Cape Town, in 1992.

The volume includes a short Introduction by Vermaak, and seven short plays, some translations from international and local works, others original Afrikaans plays:

Die Bevelvoerder ("the commander", a translation by Fred le Roux of Le commissionaire est bon enfant by Georges Courteline)

Die Buffel ("the buffalo or brute", a translation by Alewyn Lee of [[]] ("The Bear") by Anton Chekhov)

Die Ander Seun (a translation by F.P. van der Merwe of L'altro figlio by Luigi Pirandello)

Bar en Ger (a translation by Danie Botha of Bar and Ger by Geraldine Aron)

Janblom dans 'n masurka (an original Afrikaans play by Hennie Aucamp)

Die teken (an original Afrikaans play by Deon Opperman)
