Colin Welland (1934-2015). British actor and playwright.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Together with Basil Lord he starred in One for the Pot by Ray Cooney and Tony Hilton. It was staged by the Academy Theatre in December of 1967 and directed by Lord.

He wrote the screenplay for the 1989 film A Dry White Season [1] with Euzhan Palcy; based on the book by André P. Brink.

He won a screenwriting Oscar for Chariots of Fire [2].
