Verwagtings(“Expectations”) is a play by Deirdre Venter.
Original text
The uses the story of two pregnant women, one the abandoned owner of a farm, the other the household help whose husband is in prison, to look at womanhood and how women exist not just as women but as people within their societies.
Performances
2007: First performed at the Wits Theatre Downstairs (21-24 March) and at the KKNK in Oudtshoorn in April, directed by André Stoltz with Renate Stuurman, Deirdre Venter, Elton Landrew and Louis Make. Venter nominated for the Slurpie-Kanna for best emerging artists for her text.
