First appeared in July 1973, founded and published by Michael Brooke. Based on the example of the London publication The Spotlight, the first volume contained 182 entries. With the 1975/6 issue it had changed its name to The Limelight and contained 285 actors, 259 actresses as well as agents, casting directors, talent agencies, etc.
