Sudden Thoughts is a farce in one act by Thomas Egerton Wilks (1812-1854)[1].

First performed in London at the London Theatre, 1837 and at the National theatre, Boston, 1847. It made its debut in New York in 1850.

Also performed were The Serious Family (Bayard and de Wailly/Barnett), and voluntary presentations by members of Franklin's Circus (a "Highland Dance" by Miss M. Stevens, Mrs Stevens and her two sons in their "Drawingroom Entertainment").
