John Oakley-Smith (1949?-2021). Musical director and performer, actor.

Biography
Born in Zimbabwe, he studied at the University of Cape Town, and later worked in Johannesburg. He eventually resettled in Zimbabwe, where he was tragically murdered in his home in January of 2021.
He was at one time married to Terry Oakley-Smith, and the couple had one son, Lucien Oakley-Smith.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
One of the founding members of Mannie Manim and Barney Simon’s The Company around 1974.
John was the musical director for productions of And Green And Golden, Cop-Out, Torch Song Trilogy, Madame Butterfly, Twelfth Night, or What You Will. He performed in Ain't We Got Fun.
