The action of the play subtly reveals the prejudices and received attitudes of a seemingly liberal white woman directing a play with black actors. First published in African Theatre (ed Gwynneth Henderson, 1973) and later in Selected Writings (Johannesburg: Ad Donker, 1976). (See Gosher, 1988)
