Maria Schoeman (19**-). Actress and singer.

Biography

She was born in Johannesburg. Besides painting and illustrating, she loves windsurfing and reading.

Training

She has a B.A. (Hons) in Drama from Pretoria University.

Career

Worked for The Space in the 1970s.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

She has performed in Edith Piaf – Je Vous Aime (a revue at The Space Theatre), You're a Good Man Charlie Brown (with CAPAB), Holy Moses and All That Jazz (at the Market Theatre), Fiddler on the Roof (with CAPAB 1978).

She also acted in Edith Piaf – Je Vous Aime, My Husband’s wild desires almost drove me mad, The Riddle Machine and Zombie.

Maria has also appeared in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown (CAPAB 1978), The musical revue Flashing Trash (Baxter Theatre, 1980), The Car Cemetery (The People's Space, 1980), Once Upon a Bootless Christmas (Baxter Studio 1981), as Fay in Seer in the Suburbs (Baxter Theatre 1981), Lunatic and Lover (The People's Space, February 1982).
