Beautiful Thing is a play by English playwright Jonathan Harvey (born 1968).


The original text

First performed at the Bush Theatre, London on 28 July 1993.

Translations and adaptations

A screen adaptation of the play was released in 1996 by Channel 4 Films.

1995: First production in South Africa presented by Colin Law in 1995 at the Baxter Theatre, directed by Fred Abrahamse, with Terry Norton (Sandra), Nicholas Dallas (Jamie), Sally Stokes (Leah), Brian Webber (Ste) and Pierre Malherbe (Tony). Set and lighting by Brian Collins, costumes by Ann Sharfman. Stage manager Neville Engelbrecht.
