Prior to his appointment as head of the department of philosophy at the University of Pretoria, Professor Leonhard Praeg (M.Ed Rhodes, Ph.D US) taught in the department of Philosophy of Education at UWC (1993), the Philosophy Department of the University of Fort Hare (1996-1998) and the Department of Political and International Studies at Rhodes University (2003-2014). He is the author of numerous articles, book chapters, anthologies and monographs in the domain of African philosophy and is series editor of the Thinking Africa book series published in association with UKZN Press.
He is married to dancer, choreographer and academic Juanita Finestone-Praeg.
