Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He first visited South Africa in 1950 with the Belgiese Nationaal Toneelgeselskap, a company which included Fred Engelen and Tine Balder.

In 1967 he directed a student production of Die Erfgename and Yerma in Afrikaans for CAPAB.
