However, according to both F.C.L. Bosman (1980) and Ingmar Koch (1997), the play was by F. van der Stempel (fl 1870s).

Written for the Rederijkerskamer "Streven Naar Volmaking" te Kommerzijl, in 1857 and published in Amsterdam by P.M. van der Made, 1862.

1876: Performed in Dutch as in the Oddfellows Hall, Cape Town on 5 October by the Rederijkerskamer Aurora II (and ascribed to F. van der Stempel), with Engeland in het Jaar 1651, of Deugd en Misdaad (Ziegler/Roobol).
