Performance history in South Africa

According to both F.C.L. Bosman (1980) and Ingmar Koch (1997), a one-act play by this name, ascribed to F. van der Stempel (fl 1870s), was performed in Cape Town in 1876. This seems to be an error, and the play produced was surely the one by Arnold.
