De Vriend Tegen Wil en Dank (approx. "The friend against all odds") is a Dutch drama in two parts by Arnold (Nicolaas Arnoldus Wijnstok, 1830-1878)[].

The original text

Written for the Rederijkers, published in Issue 5 of Thalia, Verzameling van Blijspelen voor Rederijkers-kamers by A van Hulst, Kampen, in 1867.

Performance history in South Africa

1869: First performed in the Germania Hall, Cape Town, by Aurora II on 4 August, with Frank, de Gierigaard (Arnold).
