Written specifically for the [[Rederijkers]],  the text was first published in Volume 6 of the ''Bibliotheek voor rederijkers'' by J. Schuitemaker, Purmerende, 1869. In that edition the play is described as an "historical dramatic sketch"  ("historisch dramatische schets") by "the author of ''[[Een Geschandvlekte Naam]]'', etc".
