Naelstring ('n band tussen twee teaterstrominge) ("Umbilical Cord - a link between two theatre trends") is a symbolic play in Afrikaans by Pieter Fourie.
Utilising the relationship between a mother and her child in dealing with issues of transformation and empowerment. First produced by Rooderant Produksies at the Aardklop festival in Potchefstroom on 2 October 2001, directed by Gaerin Hauptfleisch, with Abduragman Adams and Lindie Stander. Published in 2001 by Protea Boekehuis. Translated into English as Fuck they Father and first produced by Rooderant Produksies at the Grahamstown Festival in July 2001, also directed by Gaerin Hauptfleisch with the same cast.
