She was born in East London.
Helisi has been part of bringing isiXhosa setworks to the stage since 2001. Her acting career includes roles in Amaza by Z.S. Qangule (Artscape 2009).
Helisi will be touring in London with Karoo Moose, the production for which she won a Naledi Award for best supporting actress.
