Gustav Gerdener (1979?*-) Actor and director.
Obtained a BA Drama degree at the University of the Free State, where he was awarded the Elza Krantz medal for Most artistic contribution as Student and received full university colours for Culture, he moved to Cape Town to further his professional career.
Theatre
His stage roles include Poppekas, Putsonderwater, Om soos ‘n lyk te lê, Deathwatch, Ipekonders, Die Kaukasiese Kruitsirkel and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Gained particular acclaim for his roles in Marthinus Basson’s Lang Dagreis na die Nag (20**), Hennie van Greunen's Wees (2011) and Liefde, Anna (directed by Louis van Niekerk) (2012).
His directing credits include his debut production, Dis nie my Bybie nie and the cabaret Ella en Ek.
Television and film
His television credits include appearances in Isidingo, 7de Laan, Villa Rosa and Egoli. He also featured in the short film, Drukkersbloed, with Ilse Roos and Eloise Cupido for KykNet.
