Lya Dulizkaya (19**-). Russian-born actress and singer. Emigrated to Israel in 1938. Known world-wide for her interpretation of Golde in Fiddler on the Roof.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She played the part in Taubie Kushlick’s 1969 production of that musical for African Consolidated Theatres at the Empire Theatre in Johannesburg. It also starred Shimon Israeli.
