First performed at the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden, November 13, 1837. Printed from the prompter's copy in London by Chapman and Hall the same year.

1846: First performed in the Hope Street Theatre, Cape Town by the All the World's a Stage on Friday, 4 September 1846, with The Brigand (Planché) and Lottery Ticket, or The Lawyers's Clerk (Beazley).
1848: Performed in the Hope Street Theatre, Cape Town by the All the World's a Stage on Tuesday 3 October 1848, with William Thompson, or Which is He? (Boaden).
1850: Performed in Cape Town by the Garrison Players (a company known as Captain Hall's Company) on 24 April 1850, with E. Bulwer Lytton's Richelieu, or The Conspiracy.
