Biography
Dicky was born and raised in Kroonstad. He died on his 63rd birthday in Cape Town 2015. He had a son, Sean.
Training
Studied fine arts at the University of the Orange Free State.
Career
Joined PACOFS as graphic artist in 1972, appointed stage manager in 1973. Joined the Little Theatre in 1976. Became resident designer for CAPAB in 1978. Designed for NAPAC since 1985.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Designed The Millionairess (1973), Mooi Maria (PACOFS 1980), Present Laughter (1987), Canterbury Tales (1985), Gulls, Ain't Misbehavin' (1990), Die Joiner, Mother to Mother, Die Proponentjie, As You Like It, Cardenio, Come Back, Little Sheba, A Flea in her Ear, The Importance of Being Earnest, On the Razzle, Tartuffe, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Blue Iris, Kermis op Koekenmoer.

Nominated for a Fleur du Cap for his design for The Secret Love Life of Ophelia, 2005.
