First performed in London on July 1828 at the Theatre Royal, English Opera House.
Published in London by Chapman and Hall in 1838.

Performance history in South Africa
1854: Performed in Cape Town's Garrison Theatre by the Garrison Players on 18 September as part of a benefit performance for the comedian Mr. Kirton, along with Honesty is the best Policy (Lemon) and The Spitalfields Weaver (Bayly).
