It is claimed to be a comedy fashioned from an old manuscript ("blijspel in één bedrijf naar een oud handschrift bewerkt") and the text is contained in part 4 of ''Tooneelstukken geschikt voor vereenigingen, inrichtingen van onderwijs en huiselijken kring'', published by Bom in Amsterdam in 1871.

1873: Performed in [[Dutch]] as ''[[Een Jaloersche Dwaas]]'' by [[Aurora|Aurora II]] in the [[Oddfellows Hall]],  Cape Town, on 8 April, with ''[[Onteerd]]'' (Henle) and a comic dialogue called ''[[Een Luidruchtige Jaspartij]]'' ([[A.N.E. Changuion]]).
