Adapted from Baum's 1904 novel, The Marvelous Land of Oz (often referred to asThe Land of Oz), the sequel to his The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Performance history of in South Africa

1983: Presented by the Galloway-Sainsbury Studio at the Carlton Centre's Little Theatre, directed by Keith Galloway.

2003: Presented by the Waterfront Theatre School, with Genna Galloway, Luke Viviers as Jack Pumpkinhead, Ryan Cyster as the Frenchman Monsieur Wogglebug, Lucy Holgate as the witch, and Trevor Langeveldt, Amy Dickinson and Andrew Roux, directed by Keith Galloway. Music by Ian von Memerty.
