Winifred Dashwood. (1898-1982) Playwright, poet, novelist and short story writer.

Lived and worked in Krugersdorp, where she was an active member of the Krugersdorp Municipal Dramatic and Operatic Society (KMDOS).

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Her plays include Sword of the Wilderness (1938), A Man From Krugersdorp (19**?), Because We're Here (19**?), Foundations (19**?), All are Not Shadows (196*?), Percival (1972), Rockfall at Lilyvale (published 1987), Purple Happening (1972) and The Bridge Makers (1974).

Awards, etc.

Winner of the Playwrighting Competition organised in 1938 by KMDOS as part of the Centennial celebrations of the Great Trek for her play Sword of the Wilderness.
