Watch on the Rhine (1941) by American playwright Lilian Hellman. A topical play on Nazism produced at the Standard Theatre, Johannesburg by the Gwen ffrangçon-Davies / Marda Vanne Company and at Durban’s Criterion Theatre in 1943, Alhambra Theatre, Cape Town, January 1944.
