Written by Donaldson for the USAT Dramafees of 1978 while still a student at Stellenbosch University, it is described as "a venture into some absurdities of the stage" in the festival programme.

Performance history in South Africa

1978: Unscrewing a Stage performed in the Libertas-teater in Stellenbosch on 16 March as part of the USAT Dramafees, by the residences Simonsberg and Nemesia at the University of Stellenbosch. Directed by Andrew Donaldson, with Steffen Zoutendijk, Francois de Klerk, Claire Wannenberg, Steve Collins, Nicki van Niekerk, Neil Muller, Annelie Lombard, Debbie Foster, Willie Lategan and Paul Garisch. Stage manager Ynor Meyer, assisted by Veronica Mayr.
