Tip en Tap can refer to:

A Belgian animated TV series created by Ray Goossens[1] and broadcast in South Africa

An Afrikaans puppet play for children by Tine Balder (presumably based in the TV text).

The TV text

The Belgian series was produced by the Belgische Radio en Televisie (BRT) in 1969. There were 26 episodes.

Translations and adaptations

The TV series was dubbed into Afrikaans and broadcast in South Africa.

The puppet text

The text

An Afrikaans puppet play for children, it was adapted and translated into Afrikaans with the subtitle "Die oulike Beertjies" ("The cute little bears") by Tine Balder (1924-2021), seemingly based on the 1971 Belgian TV animated series[2] of the same name. Two copies of the Afrikaans text bear the name of "M. Poliwanowa" as possible author. (Possibly the creator of a Czechoslovakian puppet version?).

Performance history in South Africa

The puppet text was probably used by Balder's puppetry students at Stellenbosch during her tenure at the University, for the typed text bears a copyright insription in the name of the Matie Poppekas, though no date.
