The Rope Dancers is a 1957 play by Morton Wishengrad (1913-1963) [1], nominated for Broadway's 1958 Tony Award.

Performance history in South Africa

1958: Presented by Taubie Kushlick [23.5.1958] starring Lydia Lindeque and Leon Gluckman. John Templer was the scenic designer.

8-11 August, 1979: Presented for PEMADS at the Port Elizabeth Opera House, directed by Helen Mann with technical director Frank de Meuse. Starring Rae McDermott (Lizzie Hyland), Joan Sneesby (Margaret Hyland), Alf Porter (The Moving Man), Anita Lowrey-Bell (Mrs Farrow), Nichola Bowman (Clementine Farrow), Michael Brunner (James Hyland), Roy McGregor (Mr Lameshnik), Gwyn James (Dr. Jacobson) and Helen Taylor (Understudy Lizzie/Clementine).
