The original text
The libretto is by John Pratt Wooler, with music by W. H. Montgomery, and the work was first performed at the Theatre Royal, London, on 9 June, 1862. The text was published by Thomas Hailes Lacy in 1866

1871: Performed four times by the D'Arcy Read Company in the Mutual Hall, Cape Town (on 9, 11, 16 and 23 October), with "Reminiscences of Sheridan Knowles's The Cousins" (Knowles?) and Belgravia, or Servantgolism (Anon.)
