The Primary English Class is a comedy by Israel Horovitz [1] (1939-2020).

The setting is a classroom where an eager young teacher is about to tackle her first assignment—teaching basic English to a group of new citizens, not one of whom speaks the same language as another.

1980: Performed at the Market Theatre 25 August - 27 September, directed by Malcolm Purkey starring Vanessa Cooke, Barrie Shah, Michael Maxwell, Fats Bookholane, Fats Dibeco, George Roulet, Shalom Kenan Peter Dongas, Shalom Kenan and Veronica Chokie. Designer Margaret Ramsay, lighting designer Mannie Manim and stage manager Chris Chomse.
