The Chimney Corner is a domestic drama by Henry Thornton Craven (1818–1905)[1]

The Chimney Corner was first performed at the Olympic Theatre, London, on 21 February 1861.

Published in London and New York by Samuel French as Number CCCXLVI of French's Standard Drama (1861?) and in New York also by C.T. De Witt (1861?)

Performance history in South Africa

1861: Performed in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town, by Sefton Parry and company as The Chimney Corner, or A True Story on 16 September, with the burlesque of Robinson Crusoe, or The King of the Caribbee Islands.

1875: Performed in the Bijou Theatre, Cape Town, by Disney Roebuck and company as The Chimney Corner on 9 August , with Partridge and Bread Sauce (Anon.) and Aladdin, or The Wonderful Scamp (Byron).

1877: Performed in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town, by Disney Roebuck and company as The Chimney Corner on 20 November, with The Temptation, or The Moral Brand (Townsend)

1877: Performed in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town, by Disney Roebuck and company as The Chimney Corner on 7 December, with Nine Points of the Law (Savage/Taylor)

1877: Performed in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town, by Disney Roebuck and company as The Chimney Corner on 18 December, with The Man with the Iron Mask (Dumas/Lucas)
