Biography

He died in Port Elzabeth in July 2011 at the age of 80.

Contribution

According to G.J. Joubert he strives to maintain his critical integrity - which enhances the quality of his reviews and also ensures a stable critical perspective when subjected to a string of sub-standard performances. He is an objective critic with a sound self-critical ability and he advocates the improvement of the professional theatre.

Became nationally known for his reviews of the Grahamstown Festival in the 1980s-1990s.
