A BA graduate of the University of KZN, Durban, she holds Associate and Licentiate Teachers Diplomas from Trinity College, London, and has completed the following courses: Thomson Foundation Current Affairs; IMMSA Dispute Resolution; Charl de Witt Labour Law.
Career
Stage actress in SA and UK, she was at one time resident actress and director and co-creator of Theatre Downstairs in Cape Town and worked in various kinds of theatre in Natal.
She later became a writer and director of industrial theatre productions.
Then became a journalist, freelancing as writer for inter alia National Magazines, IPC Magazines and Spare Rib (UK), Editor/writer Express Beat, self-conceived supplement in Sunday Express (1980 - 1983), and between 1983 and 1988 Entertainment Editor Scope, Deputy Editor Personality, Editor Darling.
In 1989 move to television, and her work included bulletin writer Television News, SABC 3, Script writer “Generations”, SABC 1’s prime-time soap opera, Senior Producer Arts Unlimited (Collage), Producer Eco-Check (50/50), Antenna, Sundowner, etc.
In 2003 became the owner of proWRITE Writing Services cc., a professional outsourced writing service. The business was conceived as a way of bringing together her multi-faceted background in print, television and theatre.
She has also served as a staff representative interacting with management in the transformation of the SABC and also on then Minister for Posts, Telecommunications & Broadcasting Pallo Jordan’s task group for the integration of the public broadcasting services.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
On stage she has appeared in The Ageing Adolescent, The Loudest Tears in Town and The Kimberley Circus.

Nominated in 1977 for Three Leaf Award for Best Actress.
