Storm en Drang is a translation into Afrikaans of William Butler Yeats’s Cathleen Ni Houlihan. One-act play. Preparations for a wedding are disturbed by an old woman’s visit; also about a nation’s eternal quest for freedom.

Performance history in South Africa

Performed at the Library Theatre, Johannesburg, by an amateur group Die Maskers in 1944. The cast included Hendrik Oberholzer, Frans Maritz, Joan Human, Napier de Bruyn, Hester van Niekerk, Anna Pretorius.
