South African Championships of Performing Arts
The South African Championships of Performing Arts is a national competition for both novice and experienced performers, and includes the six disciplines in the performing arts, focusing on both junior and senior divisions.
Founded by Dr Ellen Roux, founder of Beyond 2000, President of the South African Association of Talent, Modelling and Entertainment (SAATME) and the license holder of The World Championships of Performing Arts[1], it has been presented under the auspices of Beyond 2000 – Performing Arts Development since 11998. For the first 19 years the event was hosted by the City of Rustenburg in the North West Province, but in 2017 it took place in the Johannesburg Expo Centre, with approximately 3500 entrants from all provinces.
