Songs My Lover Stole is a cabaret by Paul Brollo, Tamsen de Beer, Izak de Vries, Tanya Holm and Colleen Jacka with music by Darryl Nel.

The original text

The text and lyrics were written by five post-graduate students in the Creative Writing class of the Department of Afrikaans and Nederlands at Rhodes University, under the guidance of Prof. Etienne van Heerden.

Performance history in South Africa

1993: The cabaret was presented by Rhodes Creative at the National Arts Festival in July 1993, directed by Dion van Niekerk, musical direction by Darryl Nel. The cast included: Niqui Cloete, Adrian Poulsen, Lanon Prigge, Busi Mahlaba and Darryl Nel.
