Simon Bruinders

BRUINDERS, Simon (194*- ). South African stage and television actor and playwright, best known for the lead role of the preacher Kierie Kammies in Jans Rautenbach's last feature film Broer Matie (1984). Wrote an autobiographical stage play Die Sideboard en die Vuur that was premièred at the KKNK in 2000. Other plays include Sonny en Ouste (2002), Onrus op Hawston (2003) and Chief & Karma (2012). Bruinders has appeared in a number of South African television productions. Father of South African actor Alvin Bruinders.
